This E30 M3 Evolution 1 is one of only 505 produced to homologate the car for racing purposes. This E30 M3 Evo 1 was also given a Tic Tac Livery wrap to showcase its special racing heritage. The M3 Evolution is virtually identical to the standard E30 M3. It was in the engine bay that the Evolution 1 differed from the regular E30 M3. 

Officially, peak output was unchanged with 200 bhp at 6750 rpm and 176lb-ft at 4750 rpm. However, these motors are known to produce a little more power at the top end, albeit at the expense of some torque. To enable the Group A competition version to rev higher, the Evolution 1’s Type S14 engine was fitted with a revised cylinder head that was identifiable by an ‘E’ cast into it. The compression ratio was set at 10.5:1 and Bosch Motronic ML fuel-injection was employed.

Transmission was through a Getrag 265 close-ratio five-speed gearbox (with dogleg first), a hydraulic clutch and a limited-slip differential with 25% locking factor.

A power-assisted quick ratio steering rack was unique to the M3.

The cabin features power-adjustable heated sport seats upholstered in black Nappa leather along with matching door panels and carpets. A leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of M instrumentation including a 260-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. A special three-spoke leather-rimmed M-Tec I steering wheel was also standard along with a Motorsport-branded gear lever, tinted glass and electric door mirrors.

The speedometer reads 146,781 original kilometers.

The body came with flared fenders, a re-profiled rear windscreen, a raised trunk lid and an enormous rear spoiler. Other M3-specific features included a deep front spoiler, extended side sills and special bumpers.

Previous owner was a BMW Car Collector and enthusiast. The vehicle has a full and current service history.

The CARFAX report shows no accidents/damage history and lists previous registration as a local B.C. vehicle.
